Marla Smith is a Master C3 De-escalation instructor, covering Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. She began facilitating C3 in July 2017 and has trained over 500 participants, including several school districts.
Licensed in both Nebraska and Iowa as a Mental Health Practitioner, Marla has spent over 20 years working with others of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds. She worked at Father Flanagan’s Boys Town (formerly Girls and Boys Town), helping them to develop problem solving skills, coping skills and independent living skills.
Marla has experience working with clients with dual diagnose, intellectual and developmental disability, or mental health diagnose.
Marla is a strong advocate for continued learning. She believes in meeting people where they are at and communicating in a respectful and trauma-informed manner to help facilitate change. She holds a Master’s degree in Youth and Family Services from Bellevue University
